Off Topic: Updates and moving forward

Hello! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted anything off topic. So I thought I’d put a few of my thoughts, updates and plans into words! I know it’s not as interesting as any of the amazing people I’ve interviewed so far this year but indulge me for a while.

If you didn’t know I set myself a goal this year to interview one person for every month of the year. This has not gone to plan really but I still think I’ve challenged myself in other ways, I’ve interviewed people a movie premiere and even interviewed people during my travels but it’s not quite where I want to be yet.

I work with a lot of amazing people who are very much up for being interviewed but I felt it would be ‘too easy’ for my goal, but don’t worry they will be interviewed soon enough!

What I’ve wanted to do more than anything is expand outside of my comfort zone for these Interviews and I received some great advice on that from some friends I’ve interviewed this year or those who were aware of the blog itself.

One was to create a social media presence just for the blog which I’m happy to say I have now done and you can find the link here. It’s early days but seems to be getting the odd bit of traction outside of my regular readers, I hope you’ll share with anyone you feel would be interested!

Other advice I received was to think about the audience so I do now try to tailor the post a bit more to who I feel would resonate more with the interview. Yet I don’t want to lose what I feel is my USP in that anyone can be interesting.

Lastly I’ve now started to intertwine what’s going on in my life a bit more with the post, you’ll have seen this in my most recent interview with Konomi where I explained a bit more about where I was interviewing them and why I was in the country.

I think that’s well and good but I really need to keep pushing with this so all I’d ask if you is to share the page with people you feel would enjoy it, let me know what you actually like about the page and more than anything let me know where you feel I could improve no matter how harsh it may be.
